Closed Luton to Dunstable Railway - November 2008
Closed during the 1960's as part of the Beeching plan, this line used to connect Dunstable to Luton. At some point it's due to be converted to a guided bus way but it's anyone's guess when that will happen. Some of the line can be taken in during a Sunday stroll but other parts, particularly the bridges and area beyond Luton Station down to Luton Hoo, are quite hard to get onto. Well worth the effort though as the abandoned signal I came across is one of the most intact I have ever found.
