Sadly (well, depending on your p.o.v) very little
history remains about this site but I was able to discover they made
electronics, most probably something to do with automation if the name
is anything to go by. Of the few
signs still in the building, one read "meter making area". If anyone
else has any info on the site then please let me know.
The site is very, very derelict so my guess is it closed a good four or
five years ago, but surprisingly little graffiti as yet. It's also
pretty big but all mostly the same. The building is part of the Power
Court industrial complex which is due for demolition as soon as planning
permission is finalised. It will form part of Luton's much anticipated
redevelopment. I think a few years ago I might have quite liked this
place but these days I would class it as a poor quality explore but it
had to be done to satisfy my curiosity as I go past it nearly every day
and it's local. Maybe this will be useful to someone as to whether or
not to go.
Worth noting is the
River Lea
culvert runs under the site.
